GREAT Scholarships for a Sustainable Future Scheme 2021 | University of Edinburgh ,Under the University of Edinburgh, two scholarships worth £ 10,000 will be available to citizens of Pakistan and Nigeria applying for the Master of Science in Climate Change, Finance and Investment. Launched in partnership with the British Council and the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign, the GREAT Scholarships for a Sustainable Future program offers scholarships to qualified students from Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey and Vietnam to pursue postgraduate study in the UK starting in the fall of 2021 in courses related to climate change.
The GREAT Scholarships for a Sustainable Future are designed to expand access to climate change courses in the UK and create a cohort of young spokespersons for positive change. They will enable 26 environmentally minded international students to advance their education in the UK and be well positioned to pursue green jobs, supporting the delivery of transformative change.
This scholarship scheme is part of a global cultural relations program led by the British Council to add value to COP26 (the United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change), which the UK is hosting in Glasgow in November 2021. This will be the largest international Climate Change Summit the UK has hosted, bringing together more than 30,000 delegates, including heads of state, climate experts and activists to agree on coordinated action to tackle climate change.
Under the University of Edinburgh, two scholarships worth £ 10,000 will be available to citizens of Pakistan and Nigeria applying for the Master of Science in Climate Change, Finance and Investment.
Award BIG scholarships for a sustainable future plan
Each scholarship will award an amount of £ 10,000 which will be deducted from your tuition fees and will be sustainable for one academic year.
At the University of Edinburgh, scholarships will be awarded to citizens and residents of Nigeria and Pakistan who are accepted for full-time admission only for the Master of Climate Change Finance and Investment.
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK First Class Honors degree. The candidate must also demonstrate how they would be climate change ambassadors.
